Frequently asked questions about

    a Homeopathic Alternative called,

    "Equine Colic Relief"

    1. Q. How does ECR work?

    A. ECR's 4 processes work in unison to;

     • Liquefy organic waste

     • Stimulate the muscles of the gut to eliminate the softened waste

     • Rehydrate bowel tissues and replace electrolytes

     • Disperse gas to relieve distention

Most people can tell it's working when they hear bowel sounds begin to return in as little as 10 to 30 minutes.

    2. Q. Are there any drugs in ECR?

    A. There are absolutely no drugs in ECR. It's made from safe 100% natural ingredients.

    3. Q. What are the ingredients in ECR?

    A. Active Ingredients: Irish Sea Moss, Kelp, Potassium, Calcium, Phosphorous, Magnesium, Vitamin D-3, and Glycerin. Other Ingredients: Purified Water, Molasses, and Sorbitol for flavoring.

    4. Q. Do you have to refrigerate ECR?

    A. No, it is best to keep ECR at normal room temperatures. The company does not recommend storing ECR in outside temperature conditions.

However, our customers have documented that ECR works just as effectively after even 3 years of storage in extreme barn temperatures of over 100 degrees all the way down to subzero. Freezing has no effect on the product effectiveness, but it can split the bottle.

    5. Q. How do I give it to my horse?

    A. ECR is given just like a wormer. There is some molasses in ECR, so horses love the taste. The calcium in ECR settles to the bottom, and has to be shaken to fully dissolve all the ingredients. The correct dose is the entire 4 oz. bottle. Remove the plunger from the syringe and pour about 1/3 of the bottle into the syringe. Overfilling the syringe can lead to spillage accidents. Hold the horses head up high and insert the syringe. Place deep in the mouth behind the tongue slowing pushing down on the plunger until empty. This will prevent any reflux action.

Repeat two more times until the bottle is empty. Then place a small amount of water in the bottle and shake to dissolve any remaining product and then administer again.

Never give only a partial dose. A partial dose can relieve the pain, but it is not enough to complete the process. Never put ECR in feed or water. This dilutes the potency and limits its ability to work as designed.

    6. Q. Does it have any side effects?

    A. ECR has absolutely NO side effects. It is an all natural homeopathic alternative that is completely safe to use for all equines.

    7. Q. Can I use ECR with Banamine?

    A. Although Banamine has been known to help horses get through a bout of colic, it is NOT made for colic and is a controlled drug. Banamine slows down and relaxes a horse's gut. ECR works completely opposite from Banamine. ECR liquefies impactions in the gut and then stimulates the muscles of the gut to eliminate the impaction.

If Banamine has already been used, do not hesitate to administer ECR as soon as possible afterwards. Be aware that Banamine may considerably slow down the effects of ECR, but ECR will still work in spite of the Banamine.

    8. Q. Should I call my vet when my horse colics?

    A. The ECR Company can not give medical advice, but we encourage owners to call their vet when their horse is experiencing signs of colic. However, after administering ECR, most owners will observe a rapid recovery in their horse and decide to cancel the emergency appointment. If the vet has already arrived, ECR recommends waiting 90 to 200 minutes to allow our product time to work before the vet starts any procedures.

    9. Q. What should I do if my horse doesn't improve with ECR?

    A. ECR works on all normal bouts of colic. When it appears not to be working, your horse may actually be having problems that are not related to colic. The horse may have a life threatening case of a twisted gut. If ECR has not helped your horse in the allotted time frame of 90 to 200 minutes, it is imperative you get immediate medical assistance. Nothing but surgery can help a twisted gut. ECR cannot melt foreign objects such as gravel or stones. 10. Q. Does ECR work on sand colic?

    A. ECR works very well on light cases of Sand Colic. It also works for Impaction Colic, Spasmodic Colic, and Gas Colic. Heavy cases of sand colic may require more than one dose. 11. Q. Can I use ECR on foals and pregnant mares?

    A. ECR is proven safe for any equine, including any age of foals, lactating/pregnant mares at any trimester, miniatures, mules, and donkeys.

    12. Q. Is the dosage still 4 ounces for miniatures and foals?

    A. Equines weighing under 200 lbs. and foals from 0-3 months and/or under 200 lbs receive only ½ a bottle, or 2 ounces.

    13. Q. How long does it last?

    A. ECR has a shelf life of an INCREDIBLE 12 years!
